Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival / Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge. Set within lush tropical gardens just outside Arusha, the lodge offers charming thatched cottages with private verandahs and stunning views of Mount Meru, providing a serene and welcoming introduction to the natural beauty of Tanzania.

Meals: B, L, D | Accommodation: Moivaro Coffee Lodge

This morning, enjoy fresh local coffee and breakfast on your verandah, with misty views of Mount Meru in the distance. After breakfast, transfer to Arusha for your private flight to Kogatende Airstrip in the northern Serengeti. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti North Camp, a mobile camp ideally positioned each year to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Nestled in the Wogakuria Valley, the camp features eight luxurious tents adorned with carpets and cotton-and-velvet curtains, offering a private oasis in the heart of the bush.

Begin your safari adventure with a drive across the savannah and hills, spotting the abundant wildlife that calls the Serengeti home. Signs of the Great Migration—wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles—are immediately apparent, and lions may be seen hunting in the distance. Birdsong fills the air as the morning unfolds, and you will enjoy a bush picnic beneath a fig tree, complete with fresh fruit and pastries spread on a traditional Maasai blanket—one of many unforgettable safari moments over the coming days.

Meals: B, L, D Accommodation: Serian Serengeti North Camp

This morning, enjoy an intimate Serengeti experience on a guided walking safari. Learn the art of tracking, discover the insects, reptiles, and plants that sustain the ecosystem, and gain insight into the Maasai’s nomadic strategies passed down through generations.

Return to camp as the day warms, refreshing with an authentic—but surprisingly luxurious—bucket shower before lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing in your airy tent or in the camp’s main library, taking in the tranquil surroundings.

This morning, enjoy a final breakfast in the bush before transferring to Kogatende Airstrip for your private flight to Singita Sasakwa Lodge in the Grumeti Reserve. Nestled within a private concession adjacent to the greater Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, the lodge offers unrivaled exclusivity across this iconic landscape. Set around a turn-of-the-century manor, Singita Grumeti blends timeless elegance with modern amenities. Perched atop one of the reserve’s highest hills, it offers sweeping views of acacia-stippled savannahs, and a walk through the lodge reveals carefully curated antiques that evoke a bygone era.

As evening falls, enjoy sundowners overlooking the endless plains, accompanied by some of Africa’s finest wines from the lodge’s celebrated cellar. Dine under the stars on a sumptuous menu crafted by Tanzanian Chef of the Year Michael Matera, before retiring to your private cottage with a four-poster bed and elegant finishes, ensuring a night of deep, restful sleep in the heart of the Serengeti.

This morning, elevate your Serengeti experience on the back of a thoroughbred horse. Singita Sasakwa is home to one of Africa’s premier equestrian centers and is among the few lodges permitted to offer safari on horseback. Your horse will be carefully selected to suit your experience and preferences, and you will traverse the lodge’s private 350,000-acre property, following trails that wind through gazelles, buffalo, and other wildlife. Riding freely across this vast landscape offers unparalleled intimacy with nature, bringing you close to elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, and more in a way that vehicles cannot replicate.

Later, continue exploring the savannah by private vehicle, unrestricted by park roads, and guided by one of Africa’s top experts. Today’s game drives conclude your immersive safari journey, providing a deeper understanding of the Serengeti’s rich ecosystems and the critical importance of conservation, leaving lasting memories of Africa’s untamed beauty.

If you want, I can also craft a shorter, ultra-luxury “romance safari” version emphasizing privacy, intimacy, and exclusive experiences for couples—it would read like a premium honeymoon safari. Do you want me to do that?

This morning, bid farewell to the wildlife and game reserves as you fly to Dar es Salaam on the shores of the Indian Ocean. You will spend the night at Oyster Bay Hotel before continuing tomorrow to your tropical escape in the Quirimbas Archipelago. Though a brief stopover, the hotel transforms it into a highlight of your journey. Set within a quiet, leafy suburb, the colonial-style property offers airy suites opening onto turquoise waters through elegant French doors.

Spend the day relaxing in the hotel’s gardens or by the pool, enjoying a refreshing Pimms and freshly prepared lobster as you anticipate the next leg of your adventure. Oyster Bay blends comfort, elegance, and a serene Indian Ocean ambiance, making your stay a memorable pause between safari and beach.

Today, leave the bustle of Dar es Salaam behind for a private tropical paradise. A short flight takes you to Vamizi Island, part of the northern Quirimbas Archipelago, where pristine white sands meet calm, teal waters. Celebrated as the “new Maldives,” Vamizi Island Lodge epitomizes barefoot luxury, blending elegance with the untouched natural surroundings.

On arrival at the private airstrip, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute transfer through the island’s rugged interior, spotting samango monkeys and coconut crabs along the way. Your exclusive kitala—a beachfront villa—is airy, spacious, and serene, offering a different kind of luxury from the bush lodges you’ve experienced.

Vamizi days are entirely flexible. Sail on a traditional dhow to world-class snorkeling sites, swim with resident dolphins, or catch glimpses of breaching humpback whales. Beneath the water, vibrant coral reefs host a dazzling array of marine life. Deep-sea fishing is also available, with professional guides taking you after yellowfin tuna, wahoo, or marlin—your catch prepared fresh for dinner back at the lodge. Whether relaxing on the shore, exploring the ocean, or venturing into the island’s interior, every moment here is designed for indulgence, adventure, and rejuvenation.
